Do you want to paint your own house, but lack the skills and don’t know where to start? Do you want to paint a room for a fraction of the cost of hiring a professional, but still want it to look professional? I can teach you how! With a variety of lesson options and my personalized approach to every client, you’ll be able to gain the specific skills you need to feel confident and tackle any painting project, large or small.
How does this work?
First, think about the project that needs to be done. Do you want to paint your whole house, or just a couple rooms? Are you painting a ceiling? Walls? Cabinets? Baseboards and trim? Do you need to remove wallpaper? If the project is small and simple, you probably only need a one-hour crash course to get up and running. If you plan to paint your whole house, though, including ceilings and trim and everything in between, or if you want to learn everything you can in a day to gain the most skills, you should go for the full-day training to really get started on the right foot.

The Two-Hour Lesson:
What you'll learn:
- What the best products and tools for the job are
- Guided help in choosing the right paint and tools (if needed)
- Proper preparation of the painting space
- A hands-on, step-by-step guide to painting the surfaces on your to-do list like a professional
- Proper clean-up at the end of the job

- A homeowner who has several rooms or various surfaces to paint
- Couples or small groups of three or four who want to be a little handier around the house
- Someone who would appreciate the extra help and attention in training

The Full-Day Training (10:00 AM-5:00 PM)

- Special assistance in tackling tougher projects such as painting cabinets, patching holes, stripping wallpaper, etc. (if needed)
- How to care for your painting tools so they’ll last
- Proper clean-up at the end of the job
This is great for…
- A homeowner who wants to paint their own house or has several various painting projects
- Couples or small groups of three or four who want to be handier around the house
- High school students who want to try painting as a summer job or project and need a crash course to get started
- Anyone who wants to get their feet wet in the industry or apply for a job with a painting crew
- Anyone who wants to learn as much as they can in a day about painting

As marvelous as the internet is, nothing can truly replace a live, in-person, experienced trainer teaching you the skills you’ll need for your project. I’m able to assess your unique needs and tailor the lesson to suit you in ways that a YouTube video can’t. If you have questions, I can answer them for you; if you have a particular issue that’s a struggle for you, I can help you work around it or overcome it; and working with a professional is one of the best ways to help you understand, remember, and develop your new skills.
You absolutely can hire me to paint your house! I’d love to! The drawback to that is that I tend to be booked out for weeks or months in advance. While I might not have several days or weeks available to devote to a project, I can often schedule a lesson or even a one full day to train a client. If you need your home painted sooner and can’t wait several weeks or months, you might be better off trying it yourself. Of course, money might be a concern for you, and I understand that. But, considering the average cost to paint a whole-house interior can be anywhere from $5,000-$20,000 or more, depending on the size of the house and other factors, the cost of hiring me to show you how to do it yourself like a professional is much, much less expensive. Even painting just the walls of a single room could cost a homeowner $300-$800 for a professional to do it. If the homeowner has the time and desire to try painting their own house, that can save them a lot of money, and I can help them feel confident about doing it right. Not only that, but after the project is finished, the client will have the knowledge and skills I teach for years to come, which can save them even more money on future projects.
At the client’s home or project location. If the client just wants the training but doesn’t have a space to be painted, the lesson will have to be truncated and the price renegotiated. In that case, I’m open to discussing the options on a case-by-case basis.

This is a free service I offer. We would just need to schedule a time and date to do that, and then schedule a date for the training.
